Joe and Joyce Sims
Joe Sims is a retired mechanic whose life has been defined by hard work, deep love, and unwavering generosity. A native of Rockport, West Virginia, Joe dedicated his career to Mon Power and later to Marbon Plastic Plant, where he was known for his reliability, skill, and strong work ethic. He took great pride in his work, but even greater pride in his family and the life he built with his late wife, Joyce.
Joe and Joyce shared a remarkable 57-year marriage filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Together, they explored all 50 states and visited numerous countries, building a lifetime of memories through their travels. Whether they were walking along the streets of Israel, cruising to the Bahamas, or experiencing cultures around the globe, their bond grew stronger with every journey.
Following Joyce’s passing from cancer, Joe continued to live a life grounded in compassion and service. Despite the profound personal loss, he channeled his grief into action, continuing to give of himself to others. Known by friends and neighbors as someone who’s always ready to lend a hand or share a kind word, Joe has quietly touched the lives of many.
Joe’s passion for helping others is evident in everything he does. Joe is a devoted Christian and has a passion for Southern Gospel Music and has helped support Christian Radio for many years. Whether through sharing his mechanical skills with those in need, or offering financial support to causes close to his heart, he has never stopped looking for ways to serve. His support to GiveMore Connections reflects this lifelong commitment. Because of his generosity, countless individuals will now have access to crucial mental health services along with faith based options that they may have otherwise gone without.
Joe Sims has lived an extraordinary life—not because of fame or fortune, but because of the impact he has made through quiet acts of kindness and enduring generosity. His legacy is one of love, service, and deep compassion, and we are honored to be part of the story he continues to write.
